Mick Morris has been named national fleet operations manager for Subaru of America. Morris, who assumed the position on Jan. 2, will be based at Subaru’s Camden, N.J., headquarters. He succeeds Charles Reed, the long-time fleet sales operations manager for Subaru who retired after almost 32 years with the automaker.

Morris has a diverse background with past experience working for automotive OEMs, a daily rental company, and in the fleet management industry.

Prior to joining Subaru, Morris was manager, commercial accounts & commercial Business Development for Volvo Car USA in Rockleigh, N.J. This was the second time he worked with Volvo Cars of North America. Earlier, Morris was the company’s commercial fleet manager responsible for national fleet sales budgets, forecasts, and allocations from 2001 to 2008.

Morris’ other automotive OEM experience includes working at the Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) corporate headquarters in Montvale, N.J., where he served as department manager fleet operations from 2008 to 2015.

In the daily rental industry, Morris worked for Avis Budget Group as director, fleet planning and analysis from 2015 to 2017.

In the fleet management industry, Morris worked at GE Capital Fleet Services in Eden Prairie, Minn., as the manufacturer relations manager from 1998-2001.

Prior to entering the automotive industry, Morris served in the United States Marine Corps as a captain, infantry (reconnaissance) from 1988 to 1991. Morris served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, where he conducted training, combat, and surveillance missions in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
