Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling an estimated 86,053 model-year 2019 Jeep Cherokee compact SUVs equipped with 2.4L engines because improper transmission calibration may result in a stall which increases the chance of a crash.

To remedy the issue, FCA will notify owners, and dealers will re-flash the transmission controller with a new calibration, at no cost to owners.

The recall begins December 8, 2018. Owners can reach FCA customer service at (800) 853-1403. FCA’s number for this recall is UA9.
