The Mercedes-Benz GLE will add mild-hybrid power, the MBUX next-generation connected vehicle and entertainment platform, a roomier interior, and new suspension technologies when it the 2020 model arrives in 2019, the company has announced.

The midsize luxury SUV will debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The 2020 GLE will be offered in two models with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four (255 hp and 273 lb.-ft. or torque) powering the GLE 350 and a new 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six cylinder (362 hp and 369 lb.-ft.) for the GLE 450. Mercedes-Benz has electrified the six-cylinder with a 48-volt power boost. Only the GLE 350 is available without 4Matic all-wheel drive.

The luxury SUV will also get the MBUX (Mercedes Benz User Experience) system that first appeared in the A-Class and has been added to the 2019 Sprinter van. Data and entertainment info appears on a pair of 12.3-inch screens in a widescreen layout.

The vehicle will offer the latest safety and driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control and a semi-autonomous feature known as Active Stop-and-Go Assist system that monitors lane markings to help maintain a safe distance at speeds up to 37 mph.
