Audi's 2019 A7 will enter its second generation with an updated design, HD Matrix LED headlights, and extensive available driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and the Pre sense 360-degree technology.
The A7 is getting its first generational update since Audi began producing the fastback-style executive sedan in 2010.
Audi has slightly updated the powertrain with a new 3.0-liter TFSI turbocharged V-6 that makes 335 horsepower and replaces a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 that made 340 hp. A revised valvelift system adds 44 pound-feet of torque (to 369 lb.-ft.). The new engine is also more efficient partly because it uses a mild-hybrid system based on a 48-volt electrical system. The engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission.
The 2019 A7 adds Audi's latest LED headlight technology — HD Matrix headlights with 12 adjacent lighting segments that give the A7 a unique digital light signature.
The list of available driver assistance technology includes adaptive cruise control, a top-view camera system, Pre sense 360-degree technology, intersection cross-traffic monitoring, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, traffic sign recognition, vehicle exiting assist, and rear cross traffic alert.
New available technology includes the Virtual Cockpit navigation, Phone Box wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, color head-up display, and 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen speaker system.
Audi will offer the 2019 A7 in three trim grades, including the Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The models will retail for $68,995, $73,395, and $77,295 respectively. The pricing includes a $995 delivery charge.
