Crusade Logistics, a petroleum logistics company that operates in South Africa, has added drones to its fleet to improve driver operations, according to an article by Engineering News.
The drones, according to the company, are used to mark out routes that the drivers will be taking. Using the video recording feature of the drone, the company is able to supply its drivers with visual cues and familiar landmarks ahead of their drive.
Through the use of drones, the company states that it has seen an improvement in driver safety and a reduction in risk of getting lost.
Funding for this program was provided by Chevron South Africa’s enterprise and supplier development program, which offers unsecured, interest-free funding to existing black-owned businesses in its value chain.
