FCA is recalling 363,480 Dodge Journey compact SUVs in the 2011 to 2015 model years because the driver-side frontal air bags might unexpectedly deploy, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The problem is linked to chafing of the air bag wiring harness within the steering wheel. The chafing can lead to short circuits.

Dodge dealers will inspect the air bag wiring and replace it if necessary. A protective cover will also be installed. There will be no charge for the repairs, NHTSA said.

The recall is expected to begin Aug. 21. Vehicle owners can reach FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) customer service at (800) 853-1403. The automaker’s number for this recall is T47.
