Altec Industries is recalling 263 2005-2013 model-year AH75/85/100 aerial devices because of their potential risk of electrical shock, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The affected aerial devices were manufactured April 2005 through April 2013, and they’re equipped with current leakage monitoring systems. The cable for this monitoring system may be too long and may breach the gap provided by the lower boom fiberglass insert chassis insulating system. If the gap is breached, the boom may conduct electrical current and increase the risk of electrical shock to the operator.
Altec dealers will inspect and properly secure the leakage monitor cable to remedy the problem.
