To mark its 25th anniversary, Sofico, the Belgian-based fleet and leasing software solutions provider, will broaden the reach of its software solution, Miles, beyond its traditional automotive leasing, finance and fleet markets towards new sectors including mobility management and equipment leasing, the company said.

Sofico was founded in Ghent in 1988 and now generates revenues amounting to €16,9m while Sofico’s systems help manage over 1,000,000 vehicles worldwide, according to the company.

Sofico started out with Leasebase, aimed primarily at contract hire and leasing companies. In the early 2000s, its current generation software, Miles, was announced, leveraging the company’s leasing and fleet management experience.

In 2010, Sofico started work on a new browser-based graphic user interface (GUI), a so-called rich Internet application (RIA). Miles RIA delivers Miles’ extensive back office functionalities through a web browser with multiple customer benefits, according to the company. Last year, Sofico launched Miles Mobile, catering the the increasing need for mobile access to information and functionality related to company cars.
