Chrysler said three of its plants will not be taking the traditional two-week summer shutdown in order to meet demand for the company’s products. These plants include Jefferson North and Conner Avenue, both in Detroit, and Toledo North, in Ohio.

The company added that all of its engine, transmission, and stamping plants, save for Indiana Transmission Plant II in Kokomo, Ind., will work throughout the summer. The company said the rest of its plants will observe the summer shutdown so the company can put improvements in place to support future production.
