During a visit to Zimbabwe's Quest Motors in Mutare, Provincial Affairs Minister Chris Mushohwe called on the government to promote the purchase of vehicles produced in the country, according to a report by newzimbabwe.com.
Mushohwe said the government could not expect its blueprint ZimAsset to succeed while continuing to import finished products from neighboring countries such as South Africa, according to the report. The minister said it did not make sense for the government to buy luxury vehicles for MPs in South Africa yet the same cars were being manufactured at the same price in Zimbabwe.
