DES PLAINES, IL – Wheels, Inc. participated in several key sessions at this year’s 2008 Green Fleet Conference, held September 15-16 in Chicago. A premier sponsor of the event, Wheels examined numerous ways and initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce emissions within a fleet.
“Wheels is committed to helping customers address current environmental issues through educated decisions that factor in business needs and reduced emissions goals,” said Stratford Dick, Wheels senior director of marketing. “We felt this conference provided a great opportunity to share and exchange ideas with other members of the fleet management industry so we can work together to address climate concerns attributed to each client’s industry.”
Wheels representatives were invited to speak on two topics of great interest of fleets. Wheels Senior Account Manager, Scott Singsank, led a panel discussion on “Impacting Driver Behavior: Telematics and Other Tools” panel discussion, which touched upon practices and tools that companies can implement to help promote green driving habits.
Darrin Aiken, Wheels assistant vice president of vehicle remarketing, participated in a separate panel discussion, “How to Effectively Remarket Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Hybrid Vehicles.”
With an ever-growing number of environmentally friendly vehicles being added to the market, companies are looking for insight on the proper replacement cycle.
In addition, several Wheels clients talked about their results from implementing their own environmentally friendly fleet practices. Wheels’ EcoWheels program is a comprehensive, innovative program that helps clients reach reduced emissions goals and change the way drivers think about transportation and the environment.
