The Golf GTE represents the fifth powertrain offered on the Golf, which is also produced in gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and battery-electric versions. The Golf GTE has an NEDC hybrid combined fuel rating of 157 miles per gallon and an all-electric range of 31 miles. It's overall range is 584 miles, according to the automaker.
Volkswagen's Golf GTE pairs two engines — a 1.4L direct-injected turn TSI generating 148 horsepower and a 101 hp electric motor. The vehicle is expected to generate 258 lb.-ft. of torque.
The GTE also comes with a driving range monitor, an energy flow display along with "zero emission statistics" and an "e-manager."
