With St. Patrick's Day approaching, Verizon Connect has analyzed how its telematics products and services are crucial to the entire process of a beer, including growing, brewing, and delivery, according to the company.
Mobile resource management is a critical part of a beer’s journey on the holiday, which is set for March 17, according to Verizon Connect.
It can help ensure that it’s brewed and delivered efficiently. Solutions from Verizon Connect link data to invaluable insights that work behind the scenes to help ensure consumers get the perfect pint of beer, according to the company.
From the grower to the brewery, Verizon Connect tracks vehicle fuel usage, hours in the field, and time left in a driver’s day.
At the brewery, the company's platform monitors equipment maintenance, including boilers, and finds the right technicians, skill sets, and tools to service machinery.
From the brewery to the warehouse, it monitors truck temperature to help ensure beer stays cold, and commercial navigation re-routes drivers to confirm the faster and safer beer delivery.
From the warehouse to the bar, it optimizes deliveries to drop off the right beer in the right order and flags delays.
New data from Verizon Connect shows that Americans of legal drinking age consider St. Patrick’s Day the second biggest beer-drinking holiday of the year, but over half (51.8%) can’t identify where their beer was brewed. The top beer-drinking holiday in the U.S. remains Independence Day.
The company revealed other data about the process.
More than half (54.2%) of legal drinking age Americans plan to celebrate St. Pat’s Day this weekend.
Taste aside, whether or not a beer is cold is the top factor in choosing a beer brand (42.5%), and more than half (55.5%) prefer their beer between 41 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Nearly half (43.4%) of respondents have consumed green beer before St. Patrick's Day.
To collect its findings, Verizon Connect conducted an online survey among more than 400 U.S. adults aged 21 and older. The survey was conducted from Feb. 25 to March 8.
