Using a cellphone's GPS capabilities while driving is now legal following a California appellate court's ruling Thursday.
The 5th District Court of Appeal sided with a Fresno man who had received a $165 ticket for using a map application on his phone to find an alternative route around a traffic jam, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The law was passed in 2006, one year before the debut of the first iPhone.
