UK Fleet Manager Stole Vehicles to Fund Wedding
A trusted UK fleet manager has admitted to stealing seven vehicles from his employer to help fund his wedding.
A trusted UK company fleet manager stole seven vehicles from his employer to help pay for his wedding, according to a report by Gloucestershire Live.
Vincent Hawkins had "overstretched" himself with the cost of the marriage and other expenses and that made him turn to crime after nearly a decade with his employers, electrical firm Clarkson Evans, where he worked as vehicle workshop supervisor and as acting fleet manager, Gloucester Crown Court was told, according to the report.
Hawkins, of Kennett Gardens, Abbeymead, Gloucester, admitted to theft of seven of the company's vehicles between December 2013 and October 2015. He also admitted to fraud between October 2013 and July 2015 by abusing his position of trust to sell other vehicles and pocket part of the proceeds, according to the report.
Judge Michael Cullum handed down a jail sentence of two years.
