Packaging specialist Lightning Packaging Supplies have added to its growing fleet with the latest Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, which has been delivered to its Hatfield premises. Lightning Packaging Supplies received the Sprinter from Mercedes-Benz dealer S&B Commercials, bringing its total fleet to three sprinter vans and 11 Mercedes-Benz Atego trucks.
The new addition is vital to the business' logistics and its reliability, said Gary Morley, transport manager for Lightning Packaging Supplies.

"Our aim has always been to provide a complete, reliable and unrivalled service to our customers," Morley said. "Our fleet of Mercedes Vans and Trucks help us achieve this, they are very reliable and the service we get from S & B Commercials is great."
The latest addition to the growing Sprinter fleet boasts a long-body 313 CDI model. The new vehicle is from the latest Sprinter range, introduced late last year, and recognizable by a more sculpted bonnet, near vertical, wedge-shaped radiator grille with perforated slats, and revised, more angular headlights, according to the company.
The current model Sprinter raises economy and safety to previously unseen levels. Fuel efficiency is improved by seven per cent over the outgoing version, with BlueEFFICIENCY variants — which incorporate a raft of additional measures designed to further reduce diesel consumption — up by a further 6 percent, to as much as 44.4 mpg, according to the company.
The vehicle's safety armory, meanwhile, includes several notable upgrades, among them the Crosswind Assist system that detects sudden strong gusts of wind and helps to prevent the van drifting out of its lane by applying individual brakes on one side of the vehicle. The host of electronic aids additionally available as options includes collision prevention assist, blind spot assist, highbeam assist and lane keeping assist.
Lightning Packaging Supplies provide a wide range of packaging materials including boxes, tapes, cushioning products, polythene products, strappings, paper products, postal packing supplies, packing room equipment and custom made packaging products.
