Uber and Volkswagen are partnering with artificial intelligence specialist Nvidia Corp. for the continued development of autonomous vehicle technology, the companies said.
Nvidia technology is helping Uber’s fleet of self-driving vehicles perceive the world and make split-second decisions, said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, Volkswagen will use Nvidia’s Drive IX platform, which enables “intelligent co-pilot” capabilities, in some of its upcoming vehicles, including the I.D. Buzz electric bus.
