Uber Hires New UK Chief in Preparation for License Renewal
In 2017, Transport for London rejected Uber's renewal application over what the government agency said was the ride-hailing group's attitude on reporting serious crimes and driver background checks.
A judge later gave Uber a probationary 15-month license that is set to expire Sept. 25.

Uber's U.K. division has hired a new chief, Melinda Royett, for England and Ireland, according to Business Insider. The appointment comes just a month before Uber's London license is set to expire.
In 2017, Transport for London rejected Uber's renewal application over what the government agency said was the ride-hailing group's attitude on reporting serious crimes and driver background checks.
A judge later gave Uber a probationary 15-month license that is set to expire Sept. 25.
Royett was previously the Europe head for Square, a digital payment group.
