Turkey Relief Foundation Sends 1,000 Trucks to Aid Syrians

In the first three months of 2017, Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) has dispatched over 1,000 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to Syrians, according to the Anadolu Agency.

In the first three months of 2017, Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) has dispatched over 1,000 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to Syrians, according to the Anadolu Agency.

“We’ve sent 1,518 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid, including basic foodstuff to Hama, Homs, Aleppo countryside, Idlib and its countryside,” Selim Tosun, a media adviser of the foundation’s Hatay branch, told Anadolu Agency Monday.

This deployment of over 1,000 trucks is the most recent aid that the organization has sent to Syria. Syria has been locked in a civil war since 2011 when the Bashar-al-Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests, according to the news agency.

Since then the organization has been deploying trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to Syria. Combined with this most recent dispatchment, the organization has sent a total of 12,000 trucks to Syrians since the beginning of the civil war.
