TruckCenter.com, an online marketplace for the sale of trucks and related services, announced the appointment of John Dorr as president and chief executive officer. Entrade Inc. provides the software for TruckCenter.com and has 80 percent ownership of the company.
Dorr, 54, served as president of Ryder Public Transportation Services Inc., Ryder’s bus transportation division, from 1996 through 1999, when it was sold to FirstGroup plc, a UK-based international provider of public transportation services. He was President of the new entity, FirstGroup America, prior to joining TruckCenter.com.
TruckCenter.com is an online business-to-business (B2B) marketplace for the sale of trucks and related services, including financing, insurance, certification, warranty and third-party inspections. A new concept in truck-oriented Web sites, TruckCenter.com is the one-stop shopping place for managing medium- and heavy-duty trucking assets—from buying and selling trucks, to supplying parts and accessories, to providing industry news and entertainment. TruckCenter.com is powered by Entrade’s e-commerce software, which addresses all areas of e-commerce from both the buyer’s and seller’s perspectives.
