Toyota Recalls Tundra for Parking Brake Issue
2022 Toyota Tundra pickups are being recalled for an electronic parking brake issue.

The recall affects about 84,000 vehicles, including the 2022-MY Tundra, as well as Lexus NX250 and NX350 models.

Fleet operators must understand the importance of staying current on safety recall news to ensure their fleet vehicles get any needed repairs. Recently, Toyota issued a safety recall that impacts a popular fleet pickup.
Specifically, Toyota is recalling certain 2022 Toyota Tundra pickups because the electronic parking brake may malfunction, causing potential rollaway of the vehicles.
Specifically, the Skid Control ECU within the Brake Actuator Assembly may falsely detect an overcurrent condition of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator and enter a failsafe mode, which prevents the EPB from being engaged. A vehicle that can potentially roll away increases the likelihood of a crash.
The recall affects 83,725 total vehicles, which includes the 2022 Tundra models as well as 2022 Lexus NX250 and NX350 vehicles.
To fix the problem, dealers will reprogram the Skid Control ECU, at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters will be mailed by October 31. Owners can reach Toyota's customer service at (800) 331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 22TA11and 22LA04.
