Top Economists to Share Forecasts for Commercial Transportation Industry
– Leading U.S. economists, including David Wyss, Ph.D., chief economist for Standard and Poor’s Data Resources Inc, will present their economic forecasts and projections for markets important to the commercial truck and transportation equipment industry at the National Truck Equipment Association’s first Economic Outlook Conference (EOC) Sept. 17-18, 2000, at the Hyatt Regency, Dearborn, MI. Wyss, who is responsible for S&P’s economic forecasts and publications, will share with EOC attendees his economic outlook for North America as well as U.S. regions. His work as co-author of S&P’s monthly Forecast Summary and Weekly Financial Notes keeps his finger on the pulse of the U.S. and world economy. He also manages research projects, especially in financial risk and tax policy. Wyss holds a B.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. He testifies regularly before Congress and is often quoted in the press. He has appeared on many major television programs and has authored articles for popular and professional publications. The EOC offers management, marketing, and sales personnel an opportunity to get next year’s forecast on truck and transportation equipment industry markets including utilities, construction, and municipalities. Attendees will learn if pertinent markets are expected to be up or down, and which industries have the potential for growth.
