Thrifty Car Rental in Oman has announced the recent opening of its new car rental location in Muscat International Airport capitalizing on growing passenger numbers and marking a new direction for the brand in the sultanate of Oman, according a report by MENAFN.com.

The new location marks a significant step for the brand in Oman under new management having recently been acquired by the Al Futtaim Group marking the start of a stronger Thrifty presence in Oman. The new branch becomes Thrifty's main Oman location and Thrifty's 47th in the GCC, according to the report.

The total number of passengers recorded at Muscat International Airport at the end of August this year increased by 6.8 percent compared to the same period in 2013 according to statistics released by Oman's National Centre of Statistics. The total number of flights increased by 1.1 percent reaching 54,038 flights compared with 53,459 recorded during the same period in 2013, according to the report.
