Sylectus Collaborates with MacroPoint to Deliver Integrated Fleet Tracking Capabilities
KISSIMMEE, FL - Sylectus announced its new collaboration with MacroPoint to provide Sylectus customers with an intuitive fleet tracking solution that helps companies increase efficiency and reduce costs.
KISSIMMEE, FL — During its 2012 Annual Conference, Sylectus, a strategic business unit of Qualcomm Enterprise Services, announced its new collaboration with MacroPoint, a leading provider of mobile fleet management technology, to provide Sylectus customers with an intuitive fleet tracking solution that helps companies increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Fleet owners, managers, freight brokers, carriers and third-party logistics providers can now leverage the MacroPoint technology to easily track the location of their loads and drivers, without any long-term contracts or new hardware requirements.
According to Sylectus customer, Anna M. Hanna, president of Whirlwind Express, LLC, “MacroPoint offers our company an easy-to-use, highly accurate and financially smart tracking system. This program greatly reduces the time it takes to track our drivers and loads, allowing us to be more efficient and responsive to the needs of our customers.”
With MacroPoint, companies can turn any ordinary cell phone into a powerful fleet tracking device to monitor its own fleets or third-party drivers—safely and affordably. Designed for private fleets of all sizes, the Sylectus-MacroPoint joint fleet tracking solution boasts the following features:
Location tracking in every truck: offers tracking capabilities to monitor any driver, including loads brokered to third-party drivers, providing greater insight into fleet operations and allocation of resources
DOT-compliant/hands-free capabilities: provides a safe alternative to making regular “check” calls via handheld devices, to ensure proper driver safety and compliance with the latest DOT regulations
“Pay-for-play” model: makes it possible for fleets to easily and affordably add location tracking to any existing Transportation Management Software (TMS), bringing unique value to current operations without imposing additional hardware requirements, long-term contracts or set-up fees
Simple and easy-to-use features: provides automated location updates and maps of vehicle locations for enhanced fleet tracking
“Sylectus is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with other leading transportation technology providers in order to bring increased value to our customers,” said Stuart Sutton, senior director at Qualcomm Enterprise Services and general manager of Sylectus. “The integration of MacroPoint software into Sylectus’ TMS is a prime example of this commitment that leverages synergies across two leading transportation technologies. As a result, our customers now have access to a turnkey, intuitive and affordable fleet management system, enabling them to increase the efficiency and profitability of their operations.”
MacroPoint is an optional module of the Sylectus TMS and is available for purchase on Sylectus’ website. For more information, please visit Sylectus’ website or visit MacroPoint’s website. The Sylectus Annual Conference was held Feb. 10-12, 2012 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Fla. During this two-day symposium, fleet industry thought leaders presented the latest information about best practices, innovations and strategies to improve business operations.
