Sofico - an automotive finance, leasing, and fleet software provider - has appointed Tatsuya Tomita as representative director, replacing Shane Curran, to head its operation in Japan.
Tomita has a background in managing services teams at software companies at major companies such as Nippon Steel, PwC, IBM, and SAS. He also has a technical background in implementation consultancy roles and as a manager, according to the company.
In its first venture into the Japanese market, Sofico Services Japan (SSJ) opened in Tokyo in 2012. The company believes its Miles fleet management software system is a good fit for the market, due to its flexibility and adaptability to deal with local regulations and taxes.
From a start-up with three employees, the company now employs 20 full time staff.
