Seminar Spotlight: Non-CDL Drivers — Tech and Techniques to Increase Safety

This seminar will share insight into collision-avoidance technology for light-duty fleets and how to maximize the benefits of outcome-based defensive driving training.

Professional truck drivers have a leg up when it comes to sophisticated training and safety technology. Shouldn’t drivers without commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) have access to commensurate array of safety options?

It all starts with non-CDL fleet operators getting a comprehensive understanding of the latest in collision-avoidance technologies for light-duty vehicles as well as best training practices.

Plan to attend an eye-opening seminar, “Non-CDL Drivers: Tech and Techniques to Increase Safety,” at Fleet Safety Experience on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. EST.

Three speakers will share their knowledge — providing you with everything you need to know about amping up safety with the right technology and techniques.

Travis Sanders, director of fleet sales for Mobileye, an Intel Company, will talk about the advantages of Mobileye’s collision avoidance technology that warns drivers of potential dangers with real-time alerts. It’s designed to help light-duty fleets reduce collisions and associated costs while improving driver behavior.

Mark Gardner, founder and CEO of AvatarFleet, will discuss how fleets are benefitting from the non-CDL online defensive driver program that his company created. You’ll get smart, practical advice drawn directly from the course, which provides world-class safety training for work truck, pickup truck, sedan, van, and other light-duty vehicle drivers.

As a seasoned fleet operator, Carl Foden, director of safety for Compass Group North America, pulls it all together with a discussion on how to achieve the successful implementation of tech and techniques with the goal to mitigate collisions, boost customer service, lower insurance rates, and create a safer fleet.

"The most dangerous part of a non-CDL driver’s job is the actual driving," said Chris Brown, conference chair. "Yet ironically, these fleets rarely get the high-level training or the next generation technology that can keep them and those they share the road with safer. This seminar is packed with valuable information for fleet operators that want to advance their safety programs for light-duty fleets."

Non-CDL Drivers: Tech and Techniques to Increase Safety” will take place on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. EST. The 2021 Fleet Safety Experience convenes virtually Sept. 21-23.
