Schneider Electric plans to replace all of its car fleet with electric vehicles by 2030 and has joined The Climate Group’s EV100 initiative as part of it’s push to reach the goal.
Shneider Electric said it will convert its 14,000 company cars in over 50 countries to EV, and will also install EV charging infrastructure in its major offices and factories by 2030, according to the company.
The EV company also launched EcoStruxure for eMobility, an end-to-end EV charging infrastructure. EcoStruxure for eMobility will address needs that cover the entire EV charging value chain, from audit and consulting, to grid and microgrid management, and smart charging stations.
Schneider Electric also helps companies transition to electric fleets by investing and partnering with start-ups such as eIQ Mobility who is focused on fleet electrification consulting services and software, and DST that offers electric fleet logistics as a service and has over 16,000 electric vehicles.
The company is also involved in The Climate Group’s EP100 and RE100 initiatives. The EP100 initiative sees companies commit to making smarter use of energy, and Schneider Electric has committed to double its energy productivity by 2030 from a 2005 baseline. Meanwhile, RE100 sees companies switch to 100% renewable electricity, and Schneider Electric has set its goal for 2030 with an intermediary objective of 80% by 2020.
