Retail Gasoline and Diesel Prices Up Again

Gasoine prices were 5.6 cents per gallon higher than at this time last year. All regions reported price increases. East Coast prices were up 5.5 cents to $2.244 per gallon. Midwest prices rose 6.1 cents to $2.285 per gallon. Gulf Coast prices were up 4.0 cents to $2.131 per gallon, while Rocky Mountain prices increased 4.5 cents to $2.186 per gallon, the EIA said. Retail gasoline prices for the West Coast were up 6.0 cents to $2.596 per gallon. California prices jumped 7.8 cents to $2.710 per gallon, 23.7 cents per gallon above last year's average price. For the third consecutive week, retail diesel prices also increased, rising 1.5 cents to $2.491 per gallon. The price was 3.6 cents per gallon higher than at this time last year, the EIA said. East Coast diesel prices rose 1.4 cents to $2.479 per gallon. Midwest prices were up 1.5 cents to $2.444 per gallon, while the Gulf Coast saw an increase of 2.4 cents to $2.418 per gallon. Rocky Mountain diesel prices remained unchanged at $2.517 per gallon. Diesel prices on the West Coast saw an increase of 0.7 cent to $2.784 per gallon. California prices decreased slightly, falling 0.4 cent to $2.901 per gallon. Prices were 22.7 cents per gallon higher than at this time last year, reported the EIA.
