WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The U.S. average retail price for regular gasoline rose 3.2 cents to $2.232 per gallon as of Nov. 13, 6.4 cents per gallon lower than at this time last year, according to the Energy Department. The Energy Department's Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week that East Coast prices rose 2.8 cents to $2.198 per gallon. In the Midwest, prices rose 3.8 cents to $2.218 per gallon. Gulf Coast prices were up 2.9 cents to reach $2.109 per gallon. The West Coast saw the largest regional increase, with prices rising 5.7 cents to $2.438 per gallon. The only region that saw a price decrease was the Rocky Mountains, where prices fell 2.0 cents to $2.254 per gallon. Retail diesel fuel prices also climbed this week, with average nationwide prices increasing 4.6 cents to $2.552, the EIA said. Prices are still 5.0 cents less than at this time last year, though. Regionally, all areas saw diesel price increases. East Coast diesel prices rose 2.2 cents to $2.53 per gallon, and Midwest prices rose 6.9 cents to $2.562 per gallon. The Gulf Coast saw the average diesel price go up by 2.1 cents to $2.47 per gallon. The Rocky Mountains saw a jump of 4.6 cents to $2.623 per gallon. West Coast diesel prices increased 6.7 cents to $2.673 per gallon --- the most expensive in the country.
