Merchants Fleet Welcomes Jonathan Parker to Board of Directors

Merchants Fleet recently announced the appointment of Jonathan Parker to its Board of Directors.

A distinguished leader with over 20 years of experience, Parker has held influential roles, including chief commercial officer (CCO) at GE Capital and executive vice president/chief commercial officer at Element Fleet Management, where his extensive expertise in strategic financial management and operational leadership helped drive $5 billion in annual lease funding and contributed to significant client growth.

“Jonathan’s exceptional financial acumen and visionary outlook will be invaluable as we continue to build a strong and transformative future for our clients,” said Brad Burgess, interim Co-CEO of Merchants.

“We are thrilled to welcome him to our Board of Directors, and we look forward to working together to shape the future of fleet,” Burgess continued.

Parker’s appointment underscores Merchants Fleet’s commitment to operational excellence and the pursuit of innovative solutions that empower clients in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

As an independent director, Parker will partner with Merchants’ Board and Executive Leadership Team to advance key initiatives focused on driving operational efficiency, enhancing client experiences, and setting new benchmarks for excellence in the fleet industry.

Merchants Fleet Appoints Blair Hendrix to Board of Directors

Merchants Fleet also recently announced the appointment of Blair Hendrix to its Board of Directors.

With over 24 years of leadership in private equity, value creation, and operational strategy, Hendrix’s addition reinforces Merchants’ commitment to strategic growth.

“Blair’s extensive background in strategic value creation aligns perfectly with our vision for the future,” said Kirk Hoffman, interim Co-CEO of Merchants Fleet. “We look forward to partnering with him to ensure best-in-class solutions for our clients.”

Hendrix recently retired as a partner and leader of Bain Capital’s North America Private Equity Portfolio Group. At Bain Capital, he served on over a dozen corporate boards across various industries, including technology, healthcare, and industrials.

Before joining Bain Capital, his roles included executive vice president and chief operating officer at DigiTrace Care Services, Inc. (now SleepMed), along with key leadership positions spanning multiple industries at Corporate Decisions, Inc. (now Oliver Wyman Consulting).

Black Fleet Network Introduces Ryan A. Tucker as Digital Communications Intern

Black Fleet Network (BFN) recently announced the addition of Ryan A. Tucker to their team as a digital communications intern. According to a company statement, Tucker has an impressive background and a proactive approach to career development that aligns perfectly with BFN’s mission.

Tucker is a computer engineering and information systems student and cybersecurity enthusiast pursuing his master’s degree at Prairie View A&M University, where he attained his bachelor’s degree.

He has enrolled in his collegiate endeavors, focusing on combining technology, creativity, and community-building to drive meaningful change. With experience in many organizations and programs, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to the BFN team.

David Hayward Promoted to Director of Fleet Management at ABM

ABM recently announced the promotion of David Hayward to director of fleet management. Since joining ABM in 2022 as senior manager of fleet, Hayward has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to optimizing the company’s fleet operations.

With over 18 years of experience in Fleet and Procurement, Hayward brings a wealth of expertise to this pivotal role.

Hayward’s career spans esteemed organizations such as Teva Pharmaceuticals, Deloitte, and Rentokil, where he honed his skills in managing large-scale fleet operations, streamlining procurement processes, and driving cost efficiency.

At ABM, he oversees a fleet of 6,000 vehicles, supporting the needs of over 9,000 drivers. His efforts have been instrumental in spearheading initiatives to achieve operational transparency.

A testament to his industry influence, Hayward was recently named a finalist for the 2024 Fleet Manager of the Year Award, an accolade recognizing his proactive approach, strategic vision, and dedication to excellence in fleet management.

Eduardo Espinal will use over 12 years of experience within the electric vehicle sector — working for or in partnership with OEMs, charging manufacturers, and other technology specialists — to target direct and channel sales growth.

ZeroMission Hires Eduardo Espinal as North American Head of Sales and Partnerships

ZeroMission has expanded its business development function by appointing Eduardo Espinal as Head of Sales and Partnerships for North America. In his role, he will be tasked with driving growth across the region and working with the global team to develop and implement an effective sales strategy.

“Commercial EV adoption is accelerating, but to make this transition viable, it must be supported by intelligent management technology that integrates vehicles, charging infrastructure, schedules, and power supply,” Espinal explained.

“I am excited about my new position at ZeroMission and the journey the company is on. This role allows me to leverage my knowledge and experience to support the complex process of fleet decarbonization and promote sustainable business practices,” Espinal continued.

Espinal will use over 12 years of experience within the electric vehicle sector — working for or in partnership with OEMs, charging manufacturers, and other technology specialists — to target direct and channel sales growth.

Most recently, he was director of business development and strategic partnerships of e-mobility for Flash Parking, spearheading the establishment of new construction opportunities for EV charging and fostering strategic fleet and real estate partnerships.

Before his time at Flash Parking, Espinal held several sales and consultancy roles at TurnTide Technologies, ChargePoint, and Urban Science. As strategic sales director of ChargePoint’s Automotive Group, he oversaw all automotive OEM relationships in North America and elevated the company’s presence within this crucial market sector.
