NHTSA Gives 2019 Infiniti QX50 5-Star Safety Rating
Under its New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently gave the 2019 Infiniti QX50 its 5-star overall safety rating—the highest rating a vehicle can receive.

Under its New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently gave the 2019 Infiniti QX50 its 5-star overall safety rating—the highest rating a vehicle can receive.
Both the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and front-wheel drive versions of the Infiniti QX50 received the coveted safety recognition from NHTSA.
The NCAP initiative evaluates how well vehicles perform in crash tests. NHTSA conducts frontal, side and rollover tests because these types account for the majority of crashes on America's roadways.
The 2019 QX50 performed well in all tests and offers a host of safety features. These include ProPILOT Assist, which helps with single-lane highway driving and primarily leverages two technologies: Lane Keep Assist which helps to center the vehicle in the lane; and Advanced Intelligent Cruise Control that monitors speed and distance to the vehicle to automatically adjust the speed and adapt to a full speed range in traffic.
Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Protection is another safety technology available on the luxury mid-size SUV. This feature is designed to spot potential frontal collisions with pedestrians ahead and/or the vehicle in front of you, helping to brake in an emergency situation.
Other available safety technologies include Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, which alerts the driver should the vehicle start to drift out of its lane, and Distance Control Assist, which helps maintain distances set by the motorist by pushing back the accelerator pedal when the vehicle ahead is closer than the preset distance.
