New Zealand commercial vehicle sales have declined 3.5% in 2019, year to date, reflecting a decline of 1,429 vehicles this year.
Most of the top automakers for new commercial vehicle sales didn’t match the number of commercial assets sold during the month of September when compared to last year, according to data from the Motor Industry Association (MIA). Despite Ford and Toyota ranking as the No. 1 and No. 2 automakers for the commercial sales segment, respectively, both saw fewer sales in September 2019.
Followed by Ford and Toyota, Holden and Mitsubishi, were the third and fourth most popular commercial vehicle brands, both of which held roughly 10% share of the market.
Earlier this year, Dataforce reported that after several years of robust registration growth figures, with 2016 and 2017 being the most outstanding years, this development abated to some extent in 2018 and seen declines through 2019.
