New Website to Help Global Fleet Managers Connect with Peers

International fleet managers can now connect with each other through a newly launched Fleet Global website, including an Executive Network peer group, designed to provide key information to help them with the strategic decisions they have to take to operate vehicle fleets across the world.
Produced by Belgium-based Nexus Communication, publishers of Fleet Europe and The International Taxation Guide, the new Global Fleet website contains up-to-the-minute-news and views from around the global fleet arena. The website, www.globalfleet.com, has been set up to help managers of large global fleets, operating in different continents across the globe, to find information relevant to run and operate their vehicles in different countries.
The website, which takes as its slogan "Think Global, Act Local" has been designed around the premise that the world does not exist as a single entity, but that it is crucial to understand local differences in order to create a coherent global fleet approach, according to Nexus.
A special password-protected section of the site allows international fleet managers to communicate directly with a global peer group, the Executive Network, to share best practices, to offer advice, and to help to each other.
The new website will also facilitate global fleet management events, the first of which is an inaugural Global Fleet Management Conference being held in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
The new Global Fleet website is intended for a senior executive level audience that includes procurement, sourcing, finance, and human resources professionals within the global fleet teams of multinational corporations.
The website also includes interviews with fleet management suppliers, leasing companies, OEMs, and third-party providers, while special in-depth reports will provide information about emerging fleet markets, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and Turkey. This information will be published through specific fleet management guides.
The first such guide will appear in September and will concentrate on the fleet market in Brazil.
Other features include a special case studies’ section in which international fleet managers around the world explain how they successfully run vehicle fleets in different countries across several continents.
And, guest commentators offer their views on some of the very latest developments, techniques and ideas in the world of global fleet operation.
“Global Fleet is an exciting new development intended specifically for those associated with the management of large international fleets across the globe,” said Caroline Thonnon, Business Development and Global Fleet Leader, who has been responsible for the launch of the new Global Fleet website. “We want to provide them with a new portal where we not only inform fleet executives about global fleet issues, but where we give them the opportunity to meet and to learn from each other. As a result, the website includes the Executive Network peer group, the first networking and cross-media platform for multinationals wanting to optimize their fleet management through globalization. It also provides in-depth knowledge and up-to-date information on global and regional fleet management as well as on the BRIC economies and others on the rise. We are particularly excited by our inaugural Global Fleet Management conference at the end of September as it is the first product of our recently-announced collaboration with U.S. fleet publishers, Bobit Business Media, the owners of Automotive Fleet magazine.”
