The NSC said it modeled the new course after the same defensive driving principles in its NSC DDC 8/6 Hour (9th Edition) program. The course covers the following topics: knowledge and techniques for avoiding collisions and violations; advice for choosing safe and responsible driving behaviors and habits; the importance of occupant safety devices and their correct use; guidance for dealing with difficult driving conditions, distractions, and fatigue; and skills for recognizing how a driver’s attitude can help prevent accidents and improve decision making.
The NSC said it operates in over 100 countries and has certified DDC training centers in 28 countries around the world.
