Farmington, Conn.-based Motorlease Corporation has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Connecticut by the Hartford Business Journal (HBJ) and Best Companies Group.

The Best Places to Work in Connecticut is open to public and privately held companies, both profit and not-for-profit, with 15 or more employees working in the state. To be considered for the award, companies complete a workplace assessment process, in-depth confidential employee survey, and a review of company policies and benefits. Companies then receive aggregated results of their employee surveys.

"We are particularly pleased because 75% of the selection process is based on the in-depth, confidential employee surveys," said Beth Kandrysawtz, chief executive. "We truly believe the talented individuals who work at Motorlease, more than half of whom have been with us for more than 10 years, are the driving force behind our success. When employees want to come to work every day, it really benefits their relationships with each other, and with our clients."

The list includes 40 companies in two categories: 24 small to medium-sized companies (15-199 US employees) and 16 large-sized companies (200 or more US employees). With 25 employees, Motorlease has been named one of 2016's Best Places to Work in Connecticut in the small to medium category.

"We truly value our employees' ideas and the contributions they have made to our success," said Joe Pelehach, vice president, who has been with Motorlease for 28 years. "We try to foster an environment where people feel a sense of accomplishment. And, we have tried to build a culture where our employee feel that they make a difference for our customers and for Motorlease."

The award program, in its 11th year, identifies, recognizes, and honors the state's best employers, on a variety of criteria. Winning companies will be recognized at a special awards ceremony on March 23, and the rankings will be published in the March issue of HBJ.
