Momentum IoT is offering a fleet management solution called Momentum Eagle 1. The new solution is aimed at small- and medium-sized fleets and provides tracking hardware and software, the Long Beach, Calif.-based company announced.
The telematics company is allowing fleet managers to try the product at no cost before committing to a monthly contract.
Momentum IoT's telematics solution uses GPS tracking to monitor fleets and equipment and displays the data on a web-based map. The solution provides visibility into fuel consumption, speed, maintenance issues, and other vehicle operations.
"I like looking at how things are done and try to make them better," said Justin Silva, CEO of Momentum IoT. "I grew up around contractors and worked at a field services company, so I understand the challenges of smaller fleet service businesses — the local plumbers, contractors, electricians, and maintenance inspectors."
In an introductory video shown below, Silva is shown walking through an equipment yard touting the product with a series of visual gags and wisecracks with a comedic tone.
Silva joined the company in January 2018. Earlier in his career, he was the information technology director at Traffic Management Inc., which offers field service management solutions. From January 2013 to June 2014, he was a senior manager of IT at AppDynamics, a workforce application management company acquired by Cisco for $3.7 billion in 2017.
