Merchants Fleet was honored as one of Chicago’s “Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” in 2020, the second year in a row the fleet management company received the honor.
Companies that are distinguished as having the most innovative and thoughtful human resources approach can receive this honor, according to the company. In March of this year in response to COVID-19 concerns and in the interest of keeping employees safe and engaged, the company reported all employees in their Rosemont, IL, office would be remote.
“Now more than ever, being an employee-focused organization is critical to success,” said Brendan P. Keegan, CEO of Merchants Fleet. “Merchants has continued to experience growth during these times. Our growth is by design and due to the dedication, hard work, and loyalty of our employees and clients. We are proud to be recognized as a best and brightest company to work for in Chicago.”
The company implemented weekly virtual hangouts as well as a co-pilot program to connect various employees across the business.
“It was very important we put employee safety first," said Alicia Hart, VP of Human Resources. “But we wanted to be sure we kept our culture and employee connections strong.”
Every year companies throughout Chicago compete to be named one of “Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.” These select companies were honored earlier on Friday, July 24.
