Merchants Fleet Management has hired Joe Birren as senior truck and upfit engineer, the fleet management company has announced.

Merchants Fleet Management has hired Joe Birren as senior truck and upfit engineer, the fleet management company has announced.
Birren spent nine years at Donlen, where he was a truck engineer and design consultant. He handled the ordering and upfitting for light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment. Birren has maintained 24 Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) test areas, as well as being an A.S.E. World Class certified technician.
"Joe's expertise in truck and upfit engineering will provide value to our customers ensuring they have optimized designs to fit the needs of their fleet," said James Crocker, Merchants director of fleet operations.
