Merchants Fleet Management has hired Tod Nestor as its chief financial officer and George Albright as its assistant director of fleet services.
“Tod is an accomplished financial executive who has deep experience in all areas of finance, and has demonstrated a keen ability to lead, develop and build top tier teams,” said Glen Villano, Chief Executive Officer of Merchants. “Tod will add a wealth of experience and skills to our senior management team as a result of his ability to develop and implement innovative approaches to financial analysis and strategy and his high sense of urgency and accountability in delivering operational results that will ultimately drive Merchants’ financial performance.”
As CFO, Nestor will report directly to Merchants’ CEO Glen Villano and will be responsible for managing all responsibilities in the company’s finance function, Merchants stated. Nestor has more than 26 years of executive and financial experience at Fortune 500 companies and early stage organizations, including as CFO at two large grocery retailers, including Fairway Markets. His experience also includes senior level finance and strategy positions at Chemical Bank Investment Banking, Heinz, Bacardi, American Eagle Outfitters, and PepsiCo, according to Merchants.
“I am extremely excited to be joining Merchants Fleet Management at such a critical time in its evolution,” Mr. Nestor stated. “I feel honored to be joining such a top-tier management team at a rapidly growing organization that is very involved with its community, as well as having an involved, supportive and long-term thinking ownership group. I look forward to being an integral part of the senior management team that continues to build the legacy started by the Singer Family into being one of the top, innovative, service oriented, hands-on fleet management companies in the United States. My breadth of experience in rapidly growing and changing organizations is well suited for managing our continued evolution and growth!”
Nestor holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management with a concentration in Strategic Planning, and a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame, Merchants stated.
