For the third year in a row, Merchants Fleet Management has been named BusinessNH magazine's 2017 Best Company to Work, the Hooksett, N.H.-based fleet management company announced.
For 20 years, BusinessNH Magazine and its partner, the NH Businesses for Social Responsibility, have recognized businesses that go out of their way to create high engagement workplaces for their employees through the Best Companies To Work For competition that attracts applicants that provide a respectful and supportive corporate culture.
The 2017 competition included an employee engagement survey that had to be completed by at least 50% of a company's workforce as well as an extensive employer survey, detailing benefits and workplace practices. The top employee engagement survey measure for Merchants Fleet Management reported 94.8% of employees surveyed agreed "my manager is interested in my wellbeing." Merchants also scored well when employees were asked if they "feel encouraged to learn and develop new skills," as 92.4% agreed.
“Merchants puts a lot of focus on our mentor programs, educational reimbursement assistance and our internal training and development programs," said Mike Reilly, chief human relations officer. "The survey results reflect how important these areas are to our employees. The fleet management industry, like most others, is constantly changing so it is important we invest in our people and continue to elevate them."
Merchants also maintains an office in Rosemont, Ill.
