At this year’s carnival in São Paulo, Daimler’s subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brasil will provide five trucks as lead vehicles the city’s carnival floats. The tradition-rich samba school, Escola de Samba Sociedade Rosas de Ouro, sets the stage with the Mercedes-Benz truck models Atego, Axor, and Actros.
The carnival show presents the cultural diversity of selected folk festivals worldwide to the public.
“The carnival is a big event in Brazil because it brings together people from different backgrounds. Cultural diversity is important for us and is a daily reality for a global player," said Jürgen Ziegler, president of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and CEO for Latin America. “With our participation in the Brazilian Carnival parade we are paying homage to our corporate responsibility and the promotion of culture.”
This year, about 200 Mercedes-Benz employees and their families will take part in the São Paulo carnival parade with the samba school. In addition, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil is sponsoring the carnival costumes for the members of Escola de Samba Sociedade Rosas de Ouro.
