The Mercedes-Benz SUV lineup will see significant updating for the 2020 model year with a new compact crossover, third-generation GLS, and freshening of the GLE and GLC SUVs.
The 2020 GLB arrives as a new model that slots between the GLA and the GLC compact crossovers. It will be powered by a four-cylinder engine, the MBUX connected-vehicle interface, available driver assistance systems, and an available third row of seating for up to seven passengers.
The GLS enters a new generation with an available six-seat option of captain's chairs, 4.0L V-8 biturbo engine, MBUX, dual 12.3-inch digital displays with augmented reality video for navigation, and a 48-volt mild hybrid system to increase efficiency.
The refreshed GLE adds a 48-volt mild hybrid system, a feature known as "active stop-and-go assist," more spacious interior, MBUX, and a new range of engines.
Updates for the GLC adds MBUX, new 2.0L inline-four cylinder that adds 14 horsepower to deliver 255 hp and 273 pound-feet of torque.
Mercedes-Benz has also announced updates to its car lineup for 2020, which will include a new AMG A35 sedan, and second-generation CLA coupe.
