The new features that will come to Manheim Simulcast users later this year, further features will also be rolled out in early 2020.

One of the improvements to the platform will be the inclusion of odometers and auction lights that indicate any special conditions of the sale that are now visible for vehicles on the run list. Photo tabs will also provide larger images and multiple views of vehicles.

Bid windows will be responsive and dealers will be able to enlarge or compress the window based on their monitor size. Bidders will also gain the ability to scroll forward or backward through the run list to preview vehicles before they’re on the auction block and follow the vehicle’s status after it leaves the block to have the ability to submit a bid on any unsold vehicles. The platform will also show visible proxy bid amounts to remind dealers that they have already placed a bid, the company stated.

Last year, approximately 14.5 million bids were placed through Simulcast. Through July 2019, 35% of vehicles that ran down Manheim’s auction lanes were sold via Simulcast.

This continued investment in Simulcast is part of a two-year, $100 million investment in the company’s digital marketplace.
