Leasys has acquired the UK company ER Capital Ltd, which operates as daily rental firm Easirent.
The acquisition includes Easirent’s CityCar247 brand, which offers customers a completely digitised customer journey and contact free rental.
Following the purchase, 20 Easirent rental centers will be rebranded to Leasys which, says the FCA Bank subsidiary, will give the leasing and mobility provider a major role as a 360-degree mobility player in the UK.
It will also solidify the company’s presence in the 12 European countries in which it operates, providing new mobility and short-term car rental services. In total, Leasys expects to reach in excess of 1000 Leasys Mobility Stores throughout the continent by end 2021.
“The signing of this agreement continues to strengthen our role as 360-degree mobility leader in the UK and mainland Europe,” commented Giacomo Carelli, CEO of FCA Bank S.p.A. and chairman of Leasys S.p.A. “Easirent delivers excellence in short-term rental and will enable us, through Leasys, to play an even more important role as a global and integrated player in the new mobility arena – especially addressed to hybrid and electric vehicles, thanks to the impressive automotive range of Stellantis – expanding the fleet and the innovative services for our customer base.”
Paul Hanley, managing director of ER Capital Ltd, added: “The Easirent team and I are looking forward to our new relationship with Leasys. Being part of the Stellantis family gives us access to multiple brands, supplying fleet to our current and planned branches across the UK. This is an exciting chapter in our business, which we’re all thrilled to be a part of.”
Leasys has grown by 30% in the UK during the last two years under managing director Sebastian Fedrigo and now has a fleet size of 16,500 vehicles. It operates a variety of Car-as-a-Service solutions, including Leasys Miles, a long-term rental option with flexible mileage on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Headquartered in Italy, Leasys now operates in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark, Greece, Austria and Poland, managing a fleet that will have over 400,000 vehicles by the end of 2021.
