LeasePlan USA Agrees to Acquire CSC
ABN AMRO Lease Holding N.V., the parent company of LeasePlan USA, announced on Oct. 26, 2000 it has agreed to acquire the fleet management company Consolidated Service Corp. (CSC) of Chicago. The acquisition will be financed with own funds and is conditional upon clearance by the relevant legal parties. The acquisition will provide the LeasePlan Group in the United States with a combined fleet of 527,000 vehicles under management, making it the second-largest fleet management company in the country. Upon approval of the acquisition, Ron Starr, current president of CSC, will continue to head the operation and will report to David Dahm, LeasePlan USA’s president and CEO. In addition, LeasePlan has agreed to acquire the two CSC facilities in Chicago, which house the company’s 380 associates. CSC is an independent full-service fleet management company offering customized packages for specific maintenance management, accident management, accident management, fleet safety, insurance service offerings, and cli-ent support service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The company also provides fleet management software.
