Škoda Auto’s Free Software Update Models Offers Battery Optimization & New Functions
Once installed on ENYAQ iV vehicles, the ME3 software also enables Škoda’s newly launched “Plug & Charge” function for easier, more convenient charging at compatible charging stations linked to the POWERPASS app.

All upcoming ŠKODA models based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB) will also support Plug & Charge in the future.

A software update for all existing ENYAQ iV vehicles, now provided free by Czech manufacturer Škoda Auto, optimizes battery management for increased real drive range, includes new functions and supports more convenient charging.
The ME3 software, already installed on new delivered ENYAQ iV family vehicles, contains improved functions for displays, the infotainment system and Škoda Connect online services.
Owners of an ENYAQ iV will be contacted by Škoda to arrange a free appointment to install the new software, which takes about five hours. With the new ME3 version, most future software updates will be installed over the air.
Once installed on ENYAQ iV vehicles, the ME3 software also enables Škoda’s newly launched “Plug & Charge” function for easier, more convenient charging at compatible charging stations linked to the POWERPASS app, according to the carmaker. The vehicle is identified at the charging point, and the charging process begins by simply connecting the charging cable.
The “Plug & Charge”s secure process complies with ISO 15118 security standards and is also supported by fast-charging stations in the Europe-wide IONITY network.
To use “Plug & Charge,” existing ENYAQ iV owners must register their vehicle in the MyŠKODA app and sign up for a POWERPASS. For new customers, the ‘Plug & Charge’ option is added when signing the contract; for existing POWERPASS users, the feature can be activated in just a few clicks via the MyŠKODA app. Once the user has selected and confirmed a POWERPASS tariff, the function will be installed in the vehicle and can be switched on and off via the infotainment menu.
Charging invoices are issued monthly depending on the terms of the POWERPASS tariff selected.
All upcoming ŠKODA models based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB) will also support Plug & Charge in the future.
