The county government agency in Nairobi, Kenya, added 11 refuse trucks to bolster garbage collection and plans to acquire another 39 trucks.

Gov. Evans Kidero said a total of 50 trucks are needed to collect 2,000 metric tons of solid waste in Nairobi every day, reports AllAfrica.com. The tricks will go to 17 constituencies for use.

Kidero said the county government hopes to partner with stakeholders to secure 40 million euros ($53.3 million) to fund a plan to generate electricity from solid waste.
