IRS Seeks Input on Regulatory Changes
The Internal Revenue Service has asked for recommendations for regulatory items that should be included in its guidance priority list for 2002-2003, said the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA).
The Internal Revenue Service has asked for recommendations for regulatory items that should be included in its guidance priority list for 2002-2003, said the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA). In Notice 2002-22, the agency said it will use the list to identify and prioritize tax issues that should be addressed through regulations, rulings, and other published administrative guidance. The IRS has previously advised NAFA that the priority list for 2002-2003 will include proposed changes to the current depreciation limits on light-duty trucks and SUVs. NAFA said this is an opportunity for NAFA members to recommend other regulatory changes that would enhance the efficiency of fleet operations, such as personal use requirements, driver reimbursement, and depreciation requirements. NAFA members can send their suggestions to NAFA’s Legislative Counsel Pat O’Connor at pocatko@aol.com.
