FLORENCE, SC – Gary "Cotton" Edwards, former general manager of Manheim Darlington and Manheim Statesville, passed away May 25. He was 61.
Edwards was born in Davie County, April 28, 1948, to Charley Mae Ratledge Edwards and the late James Hugh Edwards. He was also preceded in death by brothers, James and Donald, and sisters, Margaret and Betty.
Edwards is survived by his wife Pamela Martin Edwards, whom he married November 9, 2002. Also surviving is his son Ryan Edwards (Stephanie), stepson Josh Connolly (Kendra), and stepdaughter Nichole Andersen (Chad); grandchildren, Tatum Edwards, and Jaysen and Sydney Andersen. Brother and sisters surviving are Lester Edwards (Maxine) and Shirley Edwards and Sandra Dyson (Terry).
Services celebrating his life are scheduled for Friday May 29 at 2 p.m. in the Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Hobson and Rev. David Cunha officiating. Burial will follow in New Union U.M. Church Cemetery.
