Autonomous mobility company Goggo Network has partnered with Mobileye to introduce the first Level 4 autonomous vehicles in Spain, in an initiative to drive the future of autonomous mobility and logistics in Europe.

Goggo expects to deploy and operate up to 40 autonomous vehicles with SAE Level 4 features and the Mobileye Drive technology in cities around Spain and France. Powered by the "EyeQ system on a chip" and fed by multiple input sensors, the self-driving system can be implemented in various applications, including robotaxis, consumer passenger vehicles or commercial delivery vehicles.

To begin deployment, Goggo will assess road network coverage and provide backend interfaces for mission control and fleet management. The company also will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses to test and operate the service in the relevant municipalities.

Goggo expects to start operating with safety drivers to oversee the entire service in 2023. Once respective safety validations have been completed and regulatory clearance obtained, the driver will be eliminated, making the service autonomous Level 4.

Founded in 2018 by Martin Varsavsky and Yasmine Fage, Goggo Network operates fleets of autonomous vehicles and robots for last-mile transport. Currently based in Madrid, Berlin and Paris, the company operates in Spain, France and Germany.

Mobileye, founded in 1999, is a global leader in the development of computer vision and machine learning, data analysis, localization and mapping for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.
